NBC Press
Marcelle Nichols has an amazing story, and Heart & Soul is elated to share it.
In our September issue we’ll feature the inspiring story of how your fellow NBC member pedaled and ran to manage the pain of fibromyalgia and sciatica.
That’s a true Heart & Soul fitness success story.
Fitness success isn’t only about weight loss, although Marcelle will tell you that dropping a dress size or two was a pleasant byproduct of her hard work. We are always on the lookout for more of these stories. If you have one to share, or if you have a story idea or fitness question you’d like to see answered, let’s talk at the conference, or email me at nhoskins@heartandsoul.com. You can also find us at www.heartandsoul.com and on Facebook.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
& Conference Updates (Please scroll down!)
Q. Who is the NBC (National Brotherhood of Cyclists)?
An affiliation of African American cycling clubs (a total of sixteen and growing) and individual cyclists across the United States whose major goals are:
Camaraderie in cycling
Promotion of cycling for fitness and health
Developing athletes to compete in national and international cycling events.

Q. Will I need a car during the conference?
You will not require access to a car! All rides are accessible by bike or subway over to SF. All events are within walking distances. The Napa ride has a bus going up, highly recommended. No car needed unless you want to redrive routes to check out the scenary or do your own adventures around the Bay.
Q. What is the expected weather in August?
San Francisco's Bay Area weather is as changeable as the seas. The ocean moderates the temperature and San Francisco Bay Area weather is also one of the hardest to forecast and changes drastically from neighborhood to neighborhood. San Francisco Bay Area weather can be difficult for visitors to predict. A couple of facts, it will not rain, it will be chilly in the morning and it will not get humid. Summers are characteristically overcast and cool, while the marine layer usually burns off by the afternoon. So, bring spring clothing for the evenings, that inludes pants and jackets. If you plan to ride during the evening, the temperature will drop rapidly with the sun. Don't even think of hot humid nights! Check Oakland Weather
Q. Can I ship my bike to the hotel before the conference and have it picked up by a frieght company after the conference?
Yes, the hotel will manage your bike receipt and shipments at $7 per day if you are staying at the Marriott.
Q. What does the cost of registration include?
Conference registration includes all cycling events (Fri - Sun), all social events (Fri - Sat), breakfast (Fri - Sat), and all seminars/presentations.
Q. What are the Seminar Topics?
Q. What are the rides?
SAG support will be provided for all rides. There will be rides for all cycling levels.
